must be so disheartening to be an artist or writer or anything who makes something more ehhh i don't know the word, conceptual or abstract, and trying to post it online anywhere and getting engaged with only by ppl online who are trying so so so hard to be the funniest guy in the room and make a joke out of your art. u know?
like every time i see a post on this web site that's like (piece of art)(reblog with a comment making it into a joke)(1 billion notes) i feel bad. im sure every artist feels different abt their work beinf laughed at but like it always feels so mean spirited to me. to have the most engagement on your art come from ppl laughing at it

Like, it’s not just funny, it’s making admitting you don’t know a thing a funny and endearing trait. I just think that’s a nice reversal from the way we treat ignorance on the Internet in literally any other context.
